FISHING PODIUM

Invited Competition

Bethune, France

Fishing Podium offers a series of platforms implemented on the banks of the pond of Bethune. For some, these platforms will be an ideal fishing spot and for others a leisure platform. The project is directly inspired by the formal language of angling, inviting a pulley device connected to the top of the structure and offering a dynamic of use and transformation throughout the day. By activating the pulley the sail comes to cover the structure offering a sheltered space. The structure of the platforms is inspired by the orientation of the fishing rod, a straight diagonal oriented towards the water. The project proposes a variation of the structural modules. The assemblies are based on two strong structural principles, nods and triangulation. The three variations presented are easily adaptable to the height of the banks, and are easily adjusted during construction. The structure proposes the reuse of sections of wood treated against moss and humidity. The sail arranged on the roof comes directly from the deconstruction of an agricultural greenhouse, it is a thermal and slightly reflective material.
